Monday roundup: Covenant Day soccer rolls
Covenant Day got a head start on its CISAA boys’ soccer competition Monday with a 5-0 shutout of host Charlotte Christian.
The Lions and Knights were the first teams to play a conference match this season, and Covenant Day made the most of it.
Chayce Johnson scored a goal and had two assists, and Zeb Engstrom added a goal and an assist. Covenant Day improved to 3-1 overall, while Charlotte Christian fell to 3-4, 0-1.

Lake Norman Charter 3, South Point 0: The Knights (5-1) handed the state’s 12th-ranked team its first loss of the season, as Shreyas Polishety, Colton Waid and Liam Cuis each had a goal and an assist.
