Wednesday recap: Myers Park, Ardrey Kell suffer soccer setbacks
A pair of traditional Charlotte high school boys’ soccer powers suffered shutout losses Wednesday against tough out-of-county competition.
Myers Park fell 1-0 to visiting Hickory Ridge, while Ardrey Kell dropped a 2-0 decision at home to state power Marvin Ridge.
Hickory Ridge, now 3-0 on the season, scored its goal in the first half. The Ragin’ Bulls have not allowed a goal yet in 2026. Myers Park fell to 0-2.
Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge ran its record to 3-0 and looks the part of a state championship contender. The Mavericks won North Carolina’s Class 7A crown last November.
In Wednesday’s match, Marvin Ridge scored once in each half, dropping Ardrey Kell to 3-2 on the season.
